The Vantec UGT-ST644R add-on card is a high-performing, low-cost solution that adds multiple SATA connectivity via PCIe 2x interface to your computer. Four channels can be assigned freely within six SATA ports (four internal ports and two external ports) to meet your personal needs, while the attached drives can be configured into multiple RAID modes for optimized performance and data protection. The support for SATA III and PCI Express 2.0 allows you to take full advantage of today's storage technology without compromise. Full-height and low-profile brackets are both included for easy integration into systems of various form factors.
HYPERDUO TECHNOLOGYHyperDuo, created by Marvell Semiconductor, Inc., optimizes the performance of storage technology. It involves the combination of the SSD as cache storage for the HDD drive to give unparalleled access speed. This tiering of SSD and HDD can give you 80% SSD performance at about the a third of the cost. Using safe mode, you mirror frequently accessed files (hot files) in SSD speed; in capacity mode, you combine SSD and HDD with frequently accessed files (hot files) in the SSD. You can easily setup the configuration in the card BIOS to optimize your system.
FOUR SATA III CHANNELSA total of four channel gives you the capability of add up to four HDD/SSD drives for performance boost or storage expansion. SATA III 6Gbps on every channel offers the maximum performance for all your drives.
SIX CONFIGURABLE PORTSTwo dedicated channels are routed to two internal ports and cannot be disabled. The other two channels can be assigned to two internal ports, two external ports, or one internal port and one external port, all at your will. The configuration is implemented via the onboard jumper. The port multiplier function is great for multi-bay enclosures to minimize multiple cables and maximize storage.
